Nekolian Culture

The Nekolian's Culture is based around their children. They protect them and respect them. Education is an important aspect and everything revolves around it, from work ethics to the way the day is started. Children in class mostly start with a bow and a thank you to the teacher for taking the time to come and teach them. Another thing about them however is that touching one's tail is a sign of love and affection, only family should do it, outside of family if a male Nekolian was to touch a female's tail it'd be a sign that they love the person.

What one must not do, however, is pull one's ears. While in family it's a sign of scolding where a parent will pull the ear of their child and start scolding them; however outside the family life it's a form of insult to the person and can lead to many different outcomes - some being a slap across the face.

Because of their shy and gentle nature they tend to treat other races with an air of caution.

Another thing about this culture is that there is no such thing as a barter system; people don’t use currency. In fact, poverty is something that doesn’t exist as everyone contributes in some way. There is also a fixed amount of births on this planet, not because of any sort of birth control, but because of a natural force on the planet. Most females only give birth to two babies, sometimes three, and even sometimes four, but never more than five.

One thing that’s mysterious about this culture is how they age – Nekolian’s aging is a lot slower than a humans aging process. Because of this they tend to stay in school longer than a human does.

Of course; all cultures have their drawbacks. Towns and Villages are run by chiefs and cities by feudal lords who are elected by the people. Royal Family’s reside in the major cities (Like Alkon) even though this culture is prideful there are disruptive elements; those who wish to have more power than they are afforded. Because of this the Tanaka Royal Family keeps a tight lease on feudal lords and makes sure they don’t over-step there bounds, of course, they can’t be everywhere and there are times when the lords do get out of hand.

Human Culture

Because the humans are run by a military government they don’t have much in terms of freedom; the government enforces a required law that everyone over eighteen must join the military for ten years. If someone manages to flee that and they are found then they, along with their family, are put to death as examples.

They also don’t treat their prisoners very well and don’t care if it’s a child or adult; they’ll still whip them into shape and make them work. The government can’t stand seeing a free culture and h won’t hesitate to declare war on race’s that have no hostility’s toward them.
