Story:
For generations humans have raged war upon one another. War World 1, World War 2, the Korean War, Vietnam War, and many more followed. Then in 2020 World War 3 occurred, resulting in the deployment of nuclear and fusion based weapons. Complete destruction occurred as many nation's found themselves under nuclear radiation in a matter of minutes, superpower nations like America and other foreign nations found themselves utterly destroyed.
Many years’ followed, due to the war most of the technology that people relied upon had been lost, and thus it was reduced to a pre-industrial society. More years followed, and then in 2298, world war 4 began when the Nation known as Sashion decided to make a bid for world domination. They succeeded, with the war lasting only a few weeks, but the death totals were astronomical...
Sashion achieved world power and began to systematically kill anyone who did not agree with their views or religion, they didn't care 'who' was in their way, man, women, or child, they killed indiscriminately.
As the years passed, scientists began to suspect another war coming, anlyists claimed it would happen, and the militias of many neutral nations began to get ready. In 2347, the famous young scientist known as Kalis Junius, discovered a means to reverse the effects of radiation and called his device 'The Junius Miracle'
Kalis knew that someday his device would be needed; but he didn't know when. Then, in 2349, rumors began to spread of an uprising that would be taking place. Kalis knew that such an uprising would once again plunge the world into a nuclear winter, so under his authority he secretly had ten underground bunkers built to house cryogenically frozen people. Mostly scientists, but also their families, to help get through the nuclear winter.
In 2358, the war that would end all wars broke out. Instead of just nuclear weapons, however, satellites in orbit that had been equipped with particle beams were also deployed against the rebels. Millions, billions, died in a matter of hours - most in their sleep as the Sashion government targeted even cities that had no signs of such uprising, in an effort to quell any possibilities.
However, the rebels succeeded in bringing up the defensive shield of the capital and thus the government found themselves completely unable to use their WMD's to protect themselves. Forced to fight on even terms, the battle lasted for many days until finally the rebels breached the capital base and removed the government from power.
When all was done, the world had been plunged into another nuclear winter with roughly eighty percent of the planet now covered in deadly radiation. Out of a world population of eight billion people, only a splattering of a couple hundred thousand survived including those who were able to get into bunkers or those cytogenetically frozen.
Even so, even with Kalis's 'miracle' it would take over twenty years for the Earth to be full habitable again. With isolated pockets of human settlements located in mountains or areas that are too remote, it was only a matter of time before they would be brought together to form a new world government - one that observed peace and equality. With this new government, humans now turned to the stars for answers and companionship, however, they are blissfully unaware that the races of interstellar space have been watching humanity with growing disdain...
