A K-12 school origianlly located in the Starocean Dimension, but later moved to the MGLN Node, run by Kalshion and Katarina Dragon, the school itself is located above Exis Nine, but its main campus is located on a continent on the planet
Basic Information
Kalshion and Katarina Dragon are the Headmaster and Headmistress of Dyhokan Academy. A K - 12 school that's separated into different buildings and campuses.
The schools total student population(including all 'other' academy's located on other planets and other dimensions) is over 150,000. 12,500 students per grade; each grade level has its own color's to identify themselves
Transportation
In order to make things easy, the academy owns it's own 'taxi' service availible ONLY to students and teachers. These ships are very fast and unarmed, of course, thats only at vast glance - try and take one out and you'll discover they bare deadly fangs.
HOWEVER; along with the taxi service it also has it's own stargate network, an interconnected system that combines all the academy's into one. The biggest academy being located in the MGLN node, while the smallest being located in the Starocean Node. Similiar academy's exist in secluded parts of the Star Trek, Star Wars, Gundam, nodes, just to name a few.
The gate network is fully AI operated; with mini-Sharia's being the AI's that operate the dialing of the gate. The gate's specially modified so that no other gate network can work with it (say, the gate system in Stargate, after all, we don't want the Atlantic team to suddenly find themselves in a completely different NODE)
In the event of an unauthorized incoming wormhole, an iris is put into place. This Iris, however, is multiroled. It acts as both a 'net' for organic material and a 'don't call us, we'll call you' for non-organic material. Basically, anything that isn't organic is destroyed on the spot. Organic material, however, is not and goes through the iris and right into a green net. This net holds whatever it catches and paralyze's those inside, rendering them incapible of fighting.
Layout
(Image is being created using Blender, However, it might take a few years)
There are four different types of school's that Dyhokan Academy has. But for this one we'll talk about the main building housing Pre-K to 12th grade
The campus is rather large and has a lot of room to expand (this is due to the planet being uninhabited)
At current the campus, and no I'm NOT very good at square miles so I'll use miles instead, total is 25x30 miles. Within those miles rests parks, entertainment facilities, commercial and a few industrial places
In order to accommodate the students the Dragon Family has the school separated into three different buildings
Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st grade are in a small building located to the south of the central plaza
2nd grade to 9th grade are located in a much larger building located to the west of the central plaza
10th to 12th grades are located in a large building just a little ways east of the central plaza
The children's park and the Lake Park are located within the central plaza, making it easy to find the three schools. The Culinary Restaurant that service's all three schools is located on the northern edge of the Lake Park
Grades/Uniforms
PreK-1st graders. Their uniform is a light blue sailor dress with a white collar and blue trim, the cuffs are also white with blue trim. Students have a choice between a bow and a tie, either of which comes in nine seperate colors.
2nd - 4th Graders wear the same uniform from the CCS dimension, with a slight difference. There standard color is Blue and White, tie is Red
For the 5th - 7th graders use the uniforms from another dimension that the two twins visited, (Angelic Layer) from Eriol Academy, the colors for these three grade levels is Red, Blue and Black
For the 8th - 9th graders use the same uniforms as their Pre-k to 4th grade counter parts (Kal and Kat ran out of idea's) only difference is that the colors for all three (Skirt/Shorts - Sailor Jacket/Tie) is strictly gold
10th graders are perhaps the only ones who have a completely different uniform from everyone else. There uniform is something out of a catholic academy, where the female students where a uniform that resembles a nun, the male's where something that resemble's a pastor. Kalshion and Katarina are already in the process of changing the uniform, mostly because the 10th grade students are getting rather annoyed at being called "Nuns" and "Pastors" But then again, they're also the only ones who are treated different from both the Grade and High school students. They are in-between.
11th - 12th graders aren't required to wear a uniform, but most do, there uniform's are the standard office type for the male's, but the female's would rather have the same uniform that the lower classmates use. Perhaps it's because of the flashiness that it adds
Kalshion and Katarina don't mind how the student wear their uniform, just as long as they have it on. However, they do ask the studnets to use a certain level of maturity when expressing themselves in public.
Orientation/New Student Uniform
Every new school year students, pre-k on up to high school, wear one specific uniform. A dark purple sailor dress with a white collar and (grade dependent color) trim, the cuffs are white. along with a purple cap. The bow tie is included with the uniform and is determined by the trim color code, this uniform is also worn by new students when they enter the school after the new school year begins.
The trim color code is as follows:
Gold - Pre-School
Red - Junior/Regular/Senior Elementary
Blue - Junior/Senior High
Sometimes the Dragons may declare special occasions (like a VIP visiting, or some other important event) to where the students will wear the uniform)
Sections
The school is set up into six different sections
- Pre-School (PreK-1st)
- Junior Elementary (2nd - 4th)
- Regular Elementary (5th - 7th)
- Senior Elementary (8th and 9th)
- Junior High (10th) [10th and below is grade school level]
- Senior High (11th - 12th) [High School Level]
Additionally the school has a university and college. As well as, a military school.
Student Life
Students at Dyhokan typically live a free life, they are allowed to go where they please and are allowed to act as they please. Because students live in dormitories, they are expected to have some form of cleanliness and respect for their property and that of another student.
Each school has two dormitories, a grade school dorm and a high school dorm, though depending on student population, the grade school might have another dormitory. Tenth graders inhabit the high school dorm despite being junior high students. For the most part, two students inhabit a single dorm room. Male students with male students, and female students with female students. An exception is made for family members, this exception is enforced if the family members are different in age (example: one is a high school student with the other is a grade schooler) in this case the family members may stay in the same dorm (commonly referred to as a co-ed dorm, which is located on the second floor for both the elementary and high school dorms.
The first floor for both of the elementary dormitories is for preschool students, while the third to fifth floors are for the other grade levels. The high school dormitory is much small than the elementary dorm since it only needs to house three grades, and not ten like the elementary dorm.
School Honor System
The Academy runs under an honor system. Grade-school level students are treated as children just like how Senior High students are treated as Adults. A student here is considered a child until they get into Senior High, upon Reaching Senior High they are afforded several responsibilities, including that of assisting the teachers in the grade school (Pre-school to Junior High is considered Grade School level by Kal and Kat's perspective)
Enrollment Information
The Academy also run's under two different enrollment systems. Invitational and instructional.
Invitational is just how it's worded. They invite students to join the academy.
Instructional is different. This is for students who want to enroll in the school, but were not invited. These students, no matter WHAT grade they were in at their previous school, must attend a Pre-School Introductory class for six weeks, after that they are admited into whatever grade level their age is (The school is age dependent, not height) while the Pre-school Intro class is active, NO students may be admited to the school, weather invitational or instructional, this is because Invitational students ARE required to attend this class for one week. The class teach's the basic rule's and regulations, along with uniform measurements and preparedness. Children below the age of 8 are mostly excluded from this class since they lack the proper language skills to understand what is being taught, these students are mostly taught by theri parents.
(Clarity: The reason the introductory class is called a 'Pre-school Intro Class' is because they are entering the intro course 'before' they enter school, IE Before-School Intro Class)
Discipline
The school runs under strict rules, which pretty much everyone follows; but there are those who tend to 'bend' those rules.
Naturally most of the councils (Kindergarden, Elementary, High School, and College) do break some rules to make ends meet. But in the event that something rather critical occurs, punishment is soon to follow.
Fighting
When two students fight, it's not really considered wrong. Since fighting happens to be one of the stress releavers at the Academy (Martial Arts) but in the event that the fighting turns ugly (In other words, no safety fear: An actual fight) The student who started it is released from the Academy, no questions asked. The student who got the beating is given medical treatment (in the event a leg or two is broken) in the event of a death, which hopefully never occurs, the attacker is thus tried.
Curses (The ability to throw curse's, *IE, Pranks, Tricks, turning people into toads, and into other things)
If the event a student actually starting cursing other students, that student is thrown into a high steel chamber that provents any cursing of anytype (Thoeretically)
In the event curse's are being thrown AT the school, Kalshion call's forth the power of the Lord of Nightmares (which is not as strong as MM, but who's checking?) and eradicates the student, or at the very least, scares the leaving crap out of him
Or, an alternative to that:
Item: Band of curse prevention: An armband that prevents the wearer from cursing in the verbal or non-verbal sense, designed by MM. The only way to overload it is with energy output from a Nexial Rage, or with the remote control console.
MM donated the bands and the control console to the school, but put a warning to NEVER place one of the bands on Rose...........
Additional notes:
The bands, when cursing is attempted, cause the wearer to take on a temporary curse that changes their physical form in an undesireable way. These changes only reverse after one week or when someone tells the remote console to reverse it
Cursing
Kalshion and Katarina have always hated this form of language toward another student. So it's punishment is heavy:
1st Warning
Note sent home to family, student is remove from his current grade and sent three grades down
2nd Warning
Note sent home to family, student is thus sent into a lower grade (sometime three grades lower than what they are already in)
3rd and final warning
If all else fails, Kal and Kat remove the student from the Academy and send him/her back to their original schoo
Verble harassment toward the headmaster/misstress
The final straw, if a student verbal insults Kalshion or Katarina, the punishment is a complete suspension from there current grade level (if High School, then they are removed and placed in Grade School, if Grade School then Pre-school, if Pre-school... well... no where..)
Final Warning
Although rare, Kalshion and Katarina have done this. In the event that no other punishment suffices, the student is removed from there current grade level and sentenced to four years in another grade (Most of the time Kal and Kat send them into the 1st grade, which at the Academy is the grade students are taught manners and respect, along with curtesy)
Last Straw
So nothing worked... well... they could always send the student to visit a succubus.. that never fails
How do they send a student back a grade?
Kalshion and Katarina are capible of slightly decreasing a persons height, albiet it only lasts a week, but still it lasts
A/B Honor Roll?
There is no A honor or anything, Kalshion and Katarina run under the belief that no student deserves special treatment just because they may be better than others; they DO, however, encourage students to help those under them
Running Time
The Academy's running hour's very. While Grade School students start school at 12 noon and end at 9 pm. High Schoolers start school much earlier (due to what they are tought) they start at 8 am and end at 9 pm.
Population
Each grade has four classes, each class has enough room for twenty students. To date no class has exceeded ten students.
For grades K-12 the total population comes to about 480 to 960 (large gap, it really depends on the amount of students each grade has, but the school hover's around 560 annually)
For the College and University levels that's very different. The student population stay's around two hundred and three hundred
Breaks/Recess
The academy does believe that students need breaks. So Kalshion set it up so that there are four breaks during the school day. For High School Students one occur's at 10 am, another at 12 noon, another at 4 pm and another at 6 pm. For Grade School Students they have there breaks at 2 pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm. Another thing, Grade School and High School students do have Recess.... Recess is the same as that of the a grade school (Only different for the high school students is that they mostly play sports, they don't climb any juggle jim or stuff that the grade schoolers do)
When Recess is active for both Grade and High School levels (4 and 6 pm), there is NO restriction on where those students may go. A 5th grade student is allowed to go to and play with a high school student, high school students are often encouraged to be around the playground for there grade school bothers and sisters; this is because of both potentional injurys, but also because it helps the students develop a friendship with both grade levels
Extra Curricular Activitys
Grade School students do have extra curicculer activitys before school. Cheerleading Club, Soccer Club, Track, along with at least two other sports
More Information
Kalshions children currently run several aspects of the school, including the administration part. The only two children of the family that are not allowed to run any aspect of the school is Hikowa and Katowa.
Tid Bits
For clarity sake - the user, Kyle, created this fictional school back in 2003 as a project. It has since taken on new form as a school used in some stories.
